Surfbay Sands 68, a lovely 2 bedroom situated in a complex in Shelly Beach. This well maintained complex is a perfect place for a family holiday. You have a choice of two swimming pools, communal braai area, tennis court and direct access to the beach. There is also a play area for the children and undercover parking. Shelly beach has a long white beach on one side and a rocky beach on the other side extending to St Micheals Beach. The rocky beach is great for walking and also pottering around with kids. The numerous rock pools to be found have all the creatures that you find in small seawater aquariums. Swimming in the picturesque natural tidal pools is also great fun.
Shelly Beach also offers deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, shark cage diving, whale and dolphin watching, and fun boat rides. Protea Banks is not far off this beach. Furthermore, Shelly Beach has two shopping malls with restaurants and movies. The South Coast has nine 18 hole golf courses as well as seven blue flag beaches. Both the Oribi Gorge and the Wild Coast Sun are less than 50 km away.
Surfbay Sands 68 is on the second floor and is perfect for a small family. The living area is open plan and opens up onto a small balcony over-looking the pond. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The main bedroom is equipped with a double bed and has a ceiling fan. The second bedroom has a bunk bed. The bathroom has a bath.
Close by is St Michaels on Sea which is a small village centered around a fantastic little beach, a lagoon, and a small navigable river. Very popular beach among families with young kids and is packed with every kind of holiday activity. There are lifeguards as well as shark nets, an absolute must for those wanting a break from it all.
A weekly attraction at St Michael’s is the Uvongo Park run. This 5km fun run starts at St Michael’s Beach every Saturday at 8 am. It then follows paths and trails along the rocks to Uvongo Beach and back. Next to the beach is a grassy park with a restaurant overlooking the park and the beach. Sunbathers can either lie on the grass or the beach. The local craft market, next to the beach, besides curios also offers cheap avos, pineapples, etc in season.
